about me

Hey guys!  Thanks for visiting my little corner of the web.  I'm Paige Mitchell, owner of Iron and Ivory Events.  I live in a little log cabin in the woods with my awesome husband Trevor, our son Mason, our rescue dog Steve, and our ornery cats, Batman and Sniper.  Trevor and I moved to the cabin in the summer of 2019, and we’re so excited and honored to build our life in the home my grandparents built. Our blog about adjusting to cabin life and the renovations we’ve been working on will be coming soon!

In addition to working on projects around the house, I enjoy practicing yoga, binge-watching Netflix, over-analyzing the Bachelor, and lots of coffee and wine. Since moving to the cabin, I also enjoy spending time hiking with Steve or reading a good book on our cozy little porch!

getting down to business

Let’s get down to business - why did I choose to coordinate weddings and how did Iron Ivory Events get started?  Like many wedding planners, things all got started with my own wedding. Trevor and I were married on August 26, 2017 at the beautiful Rivercrest Farm in Dover, Ohio.  Our wedding was a blast, and it was everything I could have hoped for and more.  Prior to the wedding, I became close friends with the owner of the farm, and began helping out with weddings on the weekend.  I helped the team with everything from pre-wedding set up, to bartending, to tear down at the end of the night.  Other times, my job was just to be there - to be present in case anyone (the bride and groom, the vendors, the family) needed anything at all.

At first, these weddings were just a way for me to make some extra money to pay for our own wedding. However, as time went on I knew that this was so much more than just a job. During the course of my time at Rivercrest, I came into contact with many different vendors in all aspects of the wedding industry. Each vendor I met was so passionate about what they were doing, and they were truly so excited to be a part of each couple’s day. Each weekend, a different group of vendors would band together to support each couple and make their day perfect. It was like being part of a miracle team over and over again, and I loved it! I knew I was where I was meant to be.

So, in 2018, I took the plunge and created Iron and Ivory Events! In general, I have a very type A personality, so for me wedding planning and coordinating fits naturally with my strengths. Weddings can be stressful and the day goes by so quickly! My team and I will help your day run smoothly from start to finish so that you can focus on being present and enjoying your wedding day with your new spouse, family, and friends. As a bride or groom, you should have absolutely nothing to worry about on your big day other than having fun! So...let's do the damn thing!  I can’t wait to meet you and talk all about making your big day perfect!
